Out for a run...

At least one of us was on a run this morning. Rigel has been waking before 6:00am so I try to play with him in bed as long as possible and then figure I might as well get some exercise. Obviously Rigel is still tired despite his early waking since this is his state at some point during the run. Sleeping babies are adorable!

The Party!

Of course there was a party for Rigel's first birthday. I also took the baking leap and went for chocolate cake from scratch. It was yummy!!! Rigel went at the cake mouth first. He didn't even finish his cake, just 5 or 6 bites and he was done. I bet when he turns 2 that will change. Thanks to all who came! 

First Birthday!!!

What a ride this past year has been. Rigel turns 1 and is getting his first bottom tooth! I am humbled by his little life and his big spirit. His Granny is here from California to celebrate. We took advantage of this beautiful sunny day and went to Pearl Street for lunch at the West End Tavern- yum! He likes hearing happy birthday sung to him no matter how off key mommy is. He has taught his parents a few things about priorities and love. We know we are so blessed for who he is inside and out. I am so proud to be his mom and have the honor of raising him and guiding him into his bright future no matter what comes. So to my baby bird, monkey, nugget, buggy... Rigel HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!

Easter (better late than never)

Those of you who know us well know we are in the throws of getting our home ready to sell. Unfortunate times have befallen us. It has been so time consuming that I'm absent from my blog more than I want. So we had a very low key Easter. We celebrated some amazing baptisms at our church and then family came over. Boyd's mom was gracious to make us lunch of game hens, wild rice stuffing and green bean casserole- yum! Rigel liked getting dressed up and always likes being with family. 

Catchin up

Rigel is 11 months now... where has the time gone? Last couple of weeks are mostly uneventful. We took a short trip to New Mexico to visit one of my (Dena) college room mates. She has 5 wonderful kids! Rigel loved all the attention and entertainment and apparently her kids did too. It was so nice to catch up on our lives over the last 13 years since we saw each other in person- thank goodness for email. 

We have a friend staying with us for a time and Rigel just loves his new buddy! So much so, he taken to copying him. So sweet! 

A little Irish in me!

Today is my first St. Patrick's Day. Mommy insisted I wear green and in this picture I am playing with my green horse and reading my green book. Too much of a good thing? I think not! I like getting into the spirit of things since Daddy tells me there is a little Irish in me... I hope the "little Irish" is wearing green too so we can match! 

A Lot of pictures

A Lot has happened lately, I am eating a whole lot better, I love white stuff.  Cheese, yogurt, chicken, eggs, noodles and Tofu.  I am not as big of a fan of the veggies but mom and dad sneak it in some of the other stuff.  I do like fruit, dad gave me a sour kiwi and I loved it.  

Most of the time I have been hanging out with Piper, I would love to hang with timber but he is old and cranky.  He just sniffs me then goes and takes a nap.  Piper is fun, she lets me put my toys on her and I get to pull her hair.  Piper and I are getting more alike, both of us are wearing diapers now.  Dad says its because she is in heat, but she feels the same temperature to me.  I gotta go take a nap now, I will try to be better about keeping the blog going.
