Writing in Pencil... (In Memory)...

Life is precious... we all know that. But how do we honor that day in and day out?
Life becomes routine, mundane and just plain busy...
But then there are those life defining moments where we are reminded, sometimes all too vividly, once again how precious life is and being intentional with those you love most.
Yesterday was a run of the mill albeit ground hog kind of day here for me.
Then last night at about 6:45, it became life changing... all when a friend dropped off a toy I bought from her and said... "did you hear, Holly's husband (Dave) died this morning..." what? what? what? How many times did I say... what?
His car didn't start so he decided to run to work (he is a runner) and he collapsed and died!
What???????
I can in this moment, barely comprehend this... still.
He was 37. Healthy. Father of 3 young kids. Husband. Friend. Son. Follower of Jesus.
How how precious is life in the face of death.
Her Facebook page is flooded with prayers, and tears, and grief and love.
She is overcome with grief to say the least.
She has chosen to lean on GOD to carry her and her children through this unimaginable time.
Precious.
So as I handle my own grief for my friend. I can write this and ponder life's preciousness.
Writing in pencil is her blog. It has chronicled their challenging journey to adopt a child from Ethiopia.
It's title means so much more in this tragic moment...
Precious.
Cherish each day. Cherish this season. Always be willing to "write in pencil" because our Maker may change the story when you least expect it...
if you haven't met Him in a while I encourage you to begin your own dialogue with Jesus.
Because life is too precious not to.

Thank you for your tribute and reminder. The author of our lives is caring, gentle and works everything to his glory.
We all will come alongside this family during this time, and may the Lord love her through His body of believers.

Blogging is a great hobby for bloggers. It can be a diary of events happening in ones life. With the advancement of technology writing is fun and enjoyable. Traditional tools such as Promotional Pens is still useful if you want a hard copy of your post or article.
