Summer 2014 update-a -thon!

It has become too easy to assume Facebook feels everyone updated on us.

It doesn't, but siting down regularly to update our family blog is quite challenging.

So another stream of photos.

Starting with Rigel at the end of Kindergarten at his open house! He loved school.

this year we have chosen to homeshool. Our district offers a free program where they teach him science and social studies, and we homeschool 3 days per week for math and language arts.

Our summer was rich with lots of playing, and what else, but going to the beach!

The highlight was having a student from Spain live with us for a month! We fell in love with her! It was a wonderful experience and we hope to continue our relationship with her for a long time.

I am loving stand up paddling, and Boyd just started surfing.

We set up a trampoline for the kids this week.

They also took Spanish all summer taught by yours truly and will continue that all school year.

Canaan turned 2 in May. He is wonderful! Such a delight and very easy going.

The Princess Party

She will probably want to have a Princess birthday party until she's 18.

I love lavish, well planned events... but around here, we keep it simple.

Turning 4 means 4 fiends, dressing up princess style and ice cream!

Her birthday and he can walk!

I know every mom says it, but really, where did the time go... how is she 4 already?

She is a joy. A princess. A lap girl. A giver. A helper. A smart one. A cuddler. 

She turned 4 mid February... and shortly before, he started walking. At 21 months. Of course now he's running and always trying to keep up. Had to capture the moments of the last one walking. It's such a big move towards the long process of independence. Bittersweet. But necessary all the same. He adores her by the way...
